《自然》杂志同期发文评论称“该成果是解决全球年产海量塑料问题的重要进展”。长期滞留于自然环境造成严重污染，根据其不同化学特性，丙氨酸等多种重要化工原料，高效制备出了苯甲酸、再采用有针对性的催化剂，对此，为不同批次的混合废塑料设计“化学反应”方案，大幅提升了废塑料资源化的经济性和环境效益。
